The Society had its first meeting on 03 May 1986. The founder members, particularly Eddie Grisdale, had assisted in the building of the original Ay Nik course. It has met every year since and currently has 60 members. It is worth noting that we have at least 7 ex captains of Ay NIk. The society meets on the Friday prior to the early May Bank Holiday at a golf club in the UK. We always aim to find a club with hotel to avoid additional driving. Any past member of Ay Nik or their family are eligible to join the society,Fees are astronomical at a whopping £6 per annum. The format of the current event is 18 hole stableford with full!! handicap. However the committee reserve the right to adjust “bandit” scores after the round. The round is followed by a formal dinner and presentation with partners on the Friday evening. Latterly a lot of the crew have met up at the hotel for a typical Ay Nik Social gathering on the Thursday evening. The current trophy was renamed the “Eddie Grisdale Trophy” in honour of the inaugural Captain who sadly passed away a few years ago.
